Jujutsu Kaisen has established itself as a premium action-packed Shōnen Jump series thanks to a truly powerful array of heroes and villains introduced over its six-year run. It quickly lays down the fact that even its world’s most impressive physical combatants aren’t guaranteed a top spot on the podium except select rare exceptions.
While the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga has since come and gone, anime fans are still following the original story to see its strongest survivors left in play by the end. As such, this list ranks the stars and supporters of Gege Akutami’s original Jujutsu Kaisen series, featuring its greatest sorcerers, cursed spirits, and those in between.
10
Yuki Tsukumo
Debuted in Chapter #50 and Episode #20
Although she is sometimes underestimated, Yuki Tsukumo’s power is definitely nothing to sneeze at. As well as being a special grade sorcerer, she is very motivated and driven.
Yuki is a very independent sorcerer and opts to do things her own way rather than following the plans of others, pushing back against authority in many circumstances.
Shockingly, it seems Yuki might not even need the help or collaboration of others to take down curses, because she is a great success at it all on her own. Her Star Rage Cursed Technique and shikigami Garuda work in tandem to deal devastating blows and swiftly defeat her enemies.
She is a truly strong hero and capable of dealing some serious damage with her Cursed Energy and top-notch battle skills using both her own talents and the help Garuda provides. She can also harness Reverse Cursed Technique, something few sorcerers can do.
9
Suguru Geto
Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5
A former hero turned villain, Geto is one of four special-grade sorcerers recognized by Jujutsu High. The former hero’s true claim to fame is his unreasonable reserve of cursed energy, which lets him manipulate and control thousands of powerful cursed spirits without much effort.
Geto can then combine those curses into the unreasonably powerful Maximum Uzumaki attack.
Even if he didn’t have an abundant supply of cursed energy, Geto’s mastery of hand-to-hand combat puts him among Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest martial artists. It’s a testament to the absurd power levels reached by some of Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters that Geto isn’t the series’ most powerful character.
8
Rika Orimoto
Debuted in Chapter #0-1 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0
Rika Orimoto was once human, but after an untimely demise in a horrific accident, she became a special grade vengeful cursed spirit. She was best friends with Yuta Okkotsu before her passing and thus became incredibly devoted to protecting the boy, even in death.
Spurred on by her love for Yuta, she is one of the most powerful and relentless cursed spirits in the entire series.
Her greatest strength is that she possesses absolutely jaw-dropping amounts of Cursed Energy, ready to unleash at a moment’s notice. When Geto threatened Yuta in JJK 0, she leapt in instantly to impressively protect him, proving she will stop at nothing to make sure her beloved friend stays safe.
Her passionate love for Yuta, coupled with her physical abilities, makes her one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most terrifyingly mighty cursed spirits.
7
Toji Fushiguro
Debuted in Chapter #66 and Season 2 Episode #1
One of the few non-curse users among Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters, Megumi’s father is an absolutely monstrous fighter who should not be underestimated.
Taking on a jujutsu sorcerer like Geto and winning without much hassle is a tall order. Effortlessly beating Gojo should basically be impossible.
What makes Fushiguro so intimidating is his raw strength and his in-depth knowledge of the sorcerer community. His bloodlust and ability to take on even the strongest sorcerers rightly earned him the title Sorcerer Killer.
Though a handful of sorcerers have surpassed Toji since his time, in his prime, he was close to unstoppable.
6
Yorozu
Debuted in Chapter #211
As another participant in the Culling Game, Yorozu was a powerful sorcerer who had previously been deceased, yet she was brought back, and allowed to best others in an attempt to fight Sukuna.
She actually proved to be on par with Sukuna for a large part of their fight, showcasing her capability.
Like Mai, Yorozu was able to construct objects out of cursed energy, but she was far more efficient with using her abilities without tiring out her reserves to an extreme degree.
Every Jujutsu Kaisen Character’s Fate, Explained
Here’s a comprehensive guide of what happened to Jujutsu Kaisen’s major characters in both the original series and the spin-off manga.
From appendages to armor to liquid metal, Yorozu was a creative and resourceful sorcerer who gained recognition for her combat abilities.
5
Mahoraga
Debuted in Chapter #117 and Episode #40
Mahoraga is an immensely powerful shikigami, able to be initially summoned by Megumi Fushiguro. Although Megumi initially held off on calling Mahoraga due to its sheer incomprehensible power, he eventually had no choice but to send for the shikigami using the menacing Ten Shadows Technique that few are even able to wield.
The hulking shikigami even caught the attention of Cursed Spirit Sukuna, who decided to use it in his devious plans by controlling Megumi.
Mahoraga is relentless in combat, with incredible power, strength, and speed. Only the most powerful sorcerer, Gojo, and the King of Curses, Sukuna, came anywhere close to holding back the remarkable shikigami.
The creature eventually suffered its demise at the hands of Sukuna, but not before unleashing tremendous power that would make sorcerers and demons alike cower in true fear.
4
Kenjaku
Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5
Kenjaku is definitely one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most terrifying and strongest villains. He was responsible for one of the most heinous plot twists in the series, taking over the body of Geto Suguru simply by implanting his own brain into the corpse.
His physical strength, intelligence, and, of course, ability to take over people’s bodies make him a truly terrifying villain.
Geto was very strong too, so the fact that Kenjaku was able to gain control of his body is a devastating testament to his skill. The evildoer also trapped Gojo in the Prison Realm in the Shibuya Incident Arc, which was certainly not an easy task and involved clever emotional manipulation and a cruel scheme.
His power over some of the series’ strongest sorcerers makes him a serious threat to humanity and Jujutsu sorcerers everywhere.
3
Yuta Okkotsu
Debuted in Chapter #137, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0
The hero of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta Okkotsu, might be young, but he easily earns a high rank among Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters. His initial strength comes from the raw power of the cursed spirit of his dead best friend, Rika, who jealously watches over him.
Though he isn’t sure how to control Rika’s power at first, once the two get in synch, they’re strong enough to take on and beat the special-grade sorcerer Geto.
Though fans of the anime haven’t seen much of Yuta since he went on a training mission at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, his return in the manga made him become heralded as the next sorcerer on Gojo’s level.
2
Satoru Gojo
Debuted in Chapter #1 and Episode #1
Satoru believes he is the strongest person in existence, and he is most likely correct. He confidently states that he could defeat Sukuna even if he regained all his fingers, and that is not entirely an empty boast. He has an immense amount of cursed energy and never seems to get tired.
His Limitless Technique is completely overpowered, as it not only allows him to essentially avoid all damage but also allows him to create powerful singularities that can destroy anything they touch.
During his fight with Jogo, Satoru never once seemed concerned and ended the fight with ease after trapping Jogo in his Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void.
Later, he almost killed Hanami with his Limitless: Hollow Purple Technique, and likely would have killed the Curse if he had landed a direct hit.
1
Ryōmen Sukuna
Debuted in Chapter #1 and Episode #1
The undisputed King of Curses, Sukuna, is so powerful that a single one of his fingers is enough to create a special grade Curse.
He easily defeated the Finger Bearer in the juvenile detention center and can literally tear opponents apart with his Dismantle Technique, such as when he slashed Mahito after the Curse tried too many times to touch Sukuna’s soul.
His Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine, allows him to attack anything within 200 meters at will, and if that’s not enough, he is incredibly cunning and patient.
Sukuna also has more hidden and terrifying powers, as shown by the mysterious flame technique he used to incinerate Mahoraga and that overcame even the fire curse Jogo.
