Two passengers “who appeared intoxicated” and caused a disturbance on a Newark-bound United Airlines flight were removed by police after the plane made an unplanned stop in Bangor, Maine on Friday morning, officials said.

United Flight 883 landed safely at Bangor International Airport at 10 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said in a brief statement. The Boeing 767 left Heathrow Airport in London, England at 7:52 a.m. local time in London and was in the air for a little more than seven hours, according to FightAware.com.

The flight has since taken off again en route to New Jersey, United said in a statement. Both passengers, who were not named, are banned from future flights pending an investigation, according to the airline.

There were 150 passengers and 10 crew members aboard when the flight was diverted.
