One of the founders of the Los Zetas Cartel, considered one of the bloodiest criminal organizations in Mexico, was sentenced in the United States to 35 years in prison since they are seized 792 million dollars, the Department of Justice reported Friday.
Jaime González, aka “El Hummer” was found guilty of importing more than 450 kilograms of cocaine to the United States and 90,000 marijuana, in addition to participating in violent events to maintain control of routes to traffic drugs, store weapons, explosives and ammunition, and deliver bribes.

“He will give accounts for years of introducing lethal drugs in American communities and killing those who filed on their way,” said the special agent of the Houston division of the drug control administration (DEA), William Kimbell.
On February 28 González declared himself guilty of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute cocaine and marijuana for illegal import to the United States from Mexico.

The Office of International Affairs of the Department of Justice collaborated with the forces of the order in Mexico to achieve the arrest and extradition of González in October 2022.
