The Mexico-Colombian ancestor actor Danny Ramirez joined the project a few years ago, when he auditioned for the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier just after finishing the filming of Top Gun: Maverick. “I returned to Los Angeles and a week later I started to audition,” he says in an interview with Forbes. To play Joaquin, Danny read all the comics in which the character appeared. “And I grabbed that energy that was on the page and at that time I thought: it is the one with jokes, but also wants to verify that you can deliver something to the team.”
That led him to train a lot, because he asked: “If I’m going to be a superhero, what is the way I want to do it? I want to do it as a crack, like someone who can bring more than intelligence. ”
He made weights to increase muscle mass, Trained Karate and Muay Thai (two martial arts disciplines) and also yoga to be more flexible. “It was a process of many stages but I could also fulfill my dream of being athlete and I used that as an excuse to have a nutritional plan and coaches.”
So, he says, “Joaquin’s formation was the comics and having that energy, having a body that could organically react to any scene. I didn’t want to think about how I move my body at that time without something snapshot. So I could concentrate on the internal scene and I could achieve it and I want to do it again. ”
