The Secretary of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CDMX), Pablo Vázquez, reported that, after the confrontation resulting from the “Generation Z” march, 14 police officers remain hospitalized for injuries that do not put their lives at risk, while 26 have already been discharged.
“This morning I went to different hospitals to visit my police colleagues who were injured yesterday during the social mobilization that took place in the center of our City,” said the head of the SSC-CDMX in a publication on his X account.
Vázquez recognized the performance of the police force in the march attended by 17,000 people of all ages, among them the “black block”, which with hammers and stones tore down the fences that protected the National Palace, headquarters of the Executive, an act to which the security elements responded by launching tear gas and fire extinguishers.
“I thank and recognize all those who participated in containing the demonstration and the attacks for their dedication and bravery in confronting the violent groups; they have the backing and support of their Institution,” he stressed.
He also highlighted that through the competent areas of the SSC-CDMX, attention and timely follow-up will be given to each case.

After the departure of ‘Generation Z’, Sheinbaum affirms that ‘there is no divorce between people and government’
One day after the protest that left 20 civilians and one hundred police officers injured, in addition to twenty detainees and another person referred for “administrative offenses”, citizens were divided between those who support and those who question the actions of the local police and the Government headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Regarding this, Sheinbaum stated in the state of Tabasco that “there is no divorce between the people and the government.”
“We are one, we will never separate ourselves from the people of Mexico, and when there is a government that is close to the people, when the government responds to its people, there is no force that can stop us: we are invincible,” said the president after rejecting the violence exercised in the November 15 march.
The “Generation Z” march in Mexico brought together thousands of people of all ages in a peaceful journey that began at the Angel of Independence and culminated in the Zócalo, the largest square in the country, at the foot of the National Palace, where in the afternoon the violent confrontation between police and protesters took place.
