A Ukrainian agent traveled 300 miles through Russia to place explosives under a high -tech Russian drone blocker

Russia developed one of the world’s most sophisticated antidron vehicles and deployed it in the Moscow area to protect the city from the attacks of Ukrainian drones.

Everything was in vain. As reported, the main Ukrainian intelligence direction located and destroyed the Radar and the Valdai interference system, which could open a path for non -manned aerial vehicles to attack Moscow.

The night of February 6, something exploded in the city of Dolgoprudny, north of the Russian capital. Someone who was on the ground caught the night explosion with his phone.

“The explosive device destroyed two Russian Russian Radar systems, designed for automatic detection and neutralization of unmanned aerial vehicles 24 hours a day,” said the director of Intelligence. “The military unit in which the Valdai explosion occurred is responsible for the safety of airspace over Moscow.”

It is not clear how the Ukrainians found and supposedly attacked the Valdai system, which includes at least one vehicle and several separate sensors that unfold as a single unit. The fact that there is a video clearly implies that a Ukrainian agent quietly approached Valdai and placed explosives.

If so, it would be a risky operation in a densely populated region almost 500 kilometers from the Front of the Front in Ukraine, but it would not be something unprecedented. Ukrainian agents have repeatedly infiltrated Russian territory to sabotage war airplanes, warships and other objectives of great value.

Valdai was worth the risk. The new system, apparently quite rare in the Russian service, combined passive radio detectors, infrared sensors, radar and radio noise generators to detect and interfere small drones difficult to detect at a distance of up to six miles. The Lianozo Electromechanical Factory in Moscow began to develop Valdai in 2016. The first copy entered military service just four years ago.

Even the most sophisticated antidron system is vulnerable to the most basic media: that someone approaches it and place a bomb. But there is evidence that Valdai is also vulnerable to the same drones that it is supposed to detect and block. In 2022, a Ukrainian drone bombed what seemed to be components of a Valdai somewhere near the Front of the Front in Ukraine.

It is obvious why the Ukrainians would attack the Valdai in Dolgoprudny. The Ukrainian forces are expanding their campaign of deep attacks against air bases, factories and Russian oil facilities. The attacks on the Russian oil industry last month may have suppressed up to 10% of the production of products derived from the country’s oil.

Ukraine triggers cruise missiles against some of the most difficult objectives, but most deep attacks are carried out by means 1,600 kilometers with a precision guide (GPS or adaptation to the ground) and an explosive load.

The newest drones even have the ability to launch a bomb and return to the base, which allows them to be deployed for multiple incursions before crashing or being demolished.

Defeating these drones is an urgent priority for the Russians, at a time when their war against Ukraine approaches their fourth year and the costs, both military and industrial, increase. Defeating the means by which Russia defeats drones is an urgent priority for Ukraine.

So urgent that the country’s intelligence address could even send someone to a dangerous 300 mile trip through Russia to place explosives in the middle of the night.
