A longtime Douglas Elliman agent is moving to Corcoran, and bringing a loot of sponsor projects with her.
Kathy Murray, who had been at Elliman for over 20 years and done over $1 billion in lifetime sales volume, announced her departure on Tuesday.
Murray was named a top 50 broker by The Real Deal in 2018 with $77 million in sales volume. She had received Elliman’s Pinnacle Award, given to agents who earn at least $1 million in gross commission income, every year since 2013.
Murray is bringing with her the remaining sponsor units at a number of condo buildings around the city, including 401 East 60th Street, 308 East 38th Street, 330 East 38th Street, and 416 West 52nd Street.
This year, Murray brought the buyer in a $6.5 million deal for a penthouse at 60 Riverside Boulevard, and had the listing on a $7.5 million deal at 344 West 72nd Street.
Noah Meltzer, Lara Schecter, and Rafael Vieria will be joining her in the move. Murray and her team will work out of Corcoran’s East Side office.
Murray’s business has been focused in New York, but she has been expanding to South Florida as her clients look to split their time between the two locales.
Murray is the 35th agent to move to Corcoran from Elliman in the last year and a half.
Kirsten Jordan and her four-person team left Elliman for Corcoran in April. The team ranked 19th in TRD’s most recent ranking of New York City agents, with $68.8 million in volume across 13 deals.
Last year, the Espinal Adler Team also hopped from Elliman to Corcoran. Led by Marie Espinal and Jeff Adler, the team ranked eighth in New York City in 2023 in large team volume with nearly $140 million in sales, according to RealTrends.
But the moves have not been entirely a one-way street; John Gasdaska and Jonathan Conlon moved their business to Elliman from Corcoran last July. The pair, along with T.J. Verdiglione, did $75 million in sales the year prior to moving. They also brought with them industry veterans Sharon Baum and Elyse Gutman in a strategic partnership.
“Every career has an inflection point, this was that time for me,” Murray said, citing the Corcoran brand and its new development presence. Her current listings won’t fall under the purview of Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, but the broker said she “will definitely be working with them in the future.”
