Explosion surviving baby will be transferred to the hospital in the US
The Michou and Mau Foundation, specializing in burned minors, reported from the transfer to one of its hospitals in Texas of the 2 -year -old baby who survived the explosion of a gas truck.
In a statement, the Mexican Foundation said that the minor will be attended at the Shriners Hospitals for Children, in Galveston, Texas, after being admitted to the 21st century Medical Center in Mexico City.
He also thanked the medical center staff for their support so that the Foundation team “managed to assess the case of the child.”
Separately, the Government of Mexico City confirmed the transfer of the girl, as part of a “joint effort” so that “the patient receives high specialty medical care for the benefit of her health.”
“The minor traveled in his mother’s company, which guarantees his proximity and accompaniment in this important process for his recovery,” said the Ministry of Health of Mexico City, in a statement.
In addition, he informed that he continues to work in collaboration with Michou and Mau “to achieve the transfer of more minors to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, with support from the Mexican Foundation.”
Jazlyn Azulet, 2 years old, is one of the victims of the explosion that occurred last Wednesday afternoon, when a tank truck with 49,500 liters overturned and exploded on the Ignacio Zaragoza road, at the height of the Concordia bridge, in Iztapalapa.
His grandmother, Alicia Matías Teodoro, 49, died on Saturday after being serious burns in more than 90% of the body, after protecting her granddaughter from the flames.
