Hulk Just Overpowered Galactus After Shattering a Black Hole
In today’s Hulk Smash Everything #3 – from Ryan North, Vincenzo Carratù, Federico Blee and Joe Caramagna – Hulk is trapped inside a black hole with no way of escape. Pounding against the very fabric of reality, Hulk grows angrier and angrier until he’s finally strong enough to split the black hole in two.
Released back into normal space, Hulk’s body is subjected to an intense shift of pressure, adapting to grow to gigantic size to cope.
Having become a humongous monstrosity with gamma spikes breaking through his skin, Hulk comes face-to-face with Galactus… and beats him down.
Hulk proceeds to take his anger out on Galactus, even brutally breaking the galactic god’s arm. In a show of cosmic power, Galactus obliterates Hulk… who proceeds to reknit his body back together and keep on fighting.
As the tide turns, Galactus realizes the impossible is true – Hulk is now stronger that one of Marvel’s supreme cosmic beings. In response, Galactus attempts to steal Hulk’s gamma, causing Galactus to Hulk out and lose control.
The fight only ends when an adult Franklin Richards – fearing for the fate of the cosmos – sends the Hulk back in time to confront the Leader.
How Did Hulk Just Unlock His Ultimate Form?
In Hulk Smash Everything, Hulk has been sent back in time by the villainous Leader. The Leader initially intended to crush Hulk under the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs, but Hulk survived the epochal event, only growing stronger in his rage and suffering.
Next, the Leader hurled Hulk into a black hole, believing that the cosmic event could negate Hulk’s strength. While the black hole does hold Hulk for relative eons, the imprisonment also unlocks a whole new level of rage, making Hulk stronger than ever before.
Finally, after escaping the black hole, Hulk’s adaptive evolution comes into play. This is one of Hulk’s lesser-known powers, and allows his biology to alter to survive impossible conditions. In the past, Hulk’s lungs have evolved to stop him from drowning, but now his whole body grows to Galactus-sized proportions to survive the rigors of space.
Now, Hulk is back on Earth and angry at the entirety of existence, with Marvel teasing that the Avengers will try and fail to stop him wreaking havok. Hulk Smash Everything has pushed Bruce Banner beyond all prior limits, finally turning him into a monster capable of smashing Galactus.
