The use of Artificial Intelligence drives companies’ business models. In addition, the firms also integrate sustainability as a pillar of their operations in Mexico.

Nvidia, Coca Cola and Holcim shared their experiences on these topics at the Forbes Business and Economics Forum 2025.

Companies must have knowledge of what they want to become and Nvidia was clear that it was hardware development. They did not imagine that video game cards would be a way of automated learning, like what is now happening with artificial intelligence through processors, explains Marcio Aguiar, director of Nvidia’s Enterprise Division for Latin America.

In this sense, firms “must have a startup mentality, since there is no company or small, but rather it has to be agile,” says the Nvidia executive.

By being a pioneer in technological development, the company has an advantage over its competitors to advance in AI, automation and electric mobility, a business that has benefited from Chinese car manufacturers, says the executive.

For its part, Coca Cola believes that AI is a bet to better understand Mexicans and be able to satisfy their consumer desires, says Sergio Londoño, senior vice president of Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability at Coca Cola.

The Coca Cola system represents 2% of the national GDP and generates more than one million direct and indirect jobs, and has more than 1,100,000 shopkeepers, which shows the impact it has on the country.

Circular economy

But not only has AI taken root in companies, so has sustainability. Holcim said that 120,000 tons of garbage are generated per year, which represents a challenge for society and for the firm. For this reason, it has turned its attention to the cement and concrete manufacturing process to promote the circular economy as a business model, says Oscar Rivas, director of Geocycle Holcim México.

The firm generates solutions in accordance with waste management, complementing traditional recycling chains. In addition to also reducing CO2 emissions, since waste is not buried underground.

In Mexico, Holcim has processed 550,000 tons of garbage in 2025 and the goal is to reach one million tons of waste by 2030.
