Airbnb and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) announced an initiative to prevent and detect human trafficking in CDMX; Monterrey and Guadalajara, host cities of FIFA 2026, as well as in the state of Quintana Roo, where there is high tourist activity.
Under the initiative, called “Travel Safe,” platform hosts and guests will receive informational materials related to the issue of the crime of trafficking, said the rental platform Airbnb.
The project has a contribution of more than one and a half million pesos and also hopes to raise awareness among actors in the tourism industry, as well as local authorities.

Also, according to Airbnb, the initiative will involve the development of a public awareness campaign.
They sign an agreement in Quintana Roo
With the activation of the new initiative, Airbnb and UNODC signed an agreement for the joint fight against trafficking in Quintana Roo.
With the agreement, they said they hope to provide security to both visitors and residents of the destination.
Also, they added, they expect the organization of information sessions and working groups with state institutions, to design an effective roadmap for the detection and channeling of cases of human trafficking.
