PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An Alaska Airlines flight from Arlington, VA landed safely in Portland after the plane’s inner windshield cracked during descent.
According to Alaska, the plane which was carrying 159 passengers and 6 crew members, suffered a small crack, however, with the plane’s 5-layer windows they were able to safely land without interruption or loss of pressure.
All of Alaska’s 737s feature the 5-layer windscreens with an outer pane, three inner layers and an inner pane, the airline told KOIN 6 News.
The plane will now be inspected and repaired by engineers on the ground, Alaska said.
