Buenos Aires, Jul 28 (EFE) .- The world champion of Argentina’s boxing and influenting Alejandra ‘Locomotora’ Oliveras died Monday in the city of Santa Fe as a consequence of a ischemic vascular accident (stroke) suffered on July 14, after which he remained admitted to a local hospital of high complexity.
The death of Oliveras was announced by medical personnel of the Cullen hospital, which he entered after stroke and where he died Monday at 4:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. GMT).
In the last hours, the athlete had shown an improvement, after remaining stable during the weekend.
After the vascular accident, the exboxed had undergone surgical intervention known as cranfire, and doctors of the clinic alerted after the patient suffered pathologies in the carotid artery and was hypertensive, despite which it did not usually practice controls.
‘Locomotora’ Oliveras was born on March 20, 1978 in El Carmen, town of the Argentine province of Jujuy, and registered with a successful career as a professional boxer between 2005 and 2019, a period in which he obtained six world title in various categories.
As he reported in interviews with local media, the self -denied “Rocky Woman, but really” began as a young man to train this sport as a way of protecting from a context of domestic violence and poverty.
In 2006 he conquered the Supergallo World Championship of the World Boxing Council (CMB), a title he defended twice before losing it in 2008 in a famous fight at the Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires against Marcela ‘Tigresa’ Acuña, another important figure of the Argentine boxing.
Oliveras participated in reality shows from Argentine television and his popularity grew to transform himself into an influential social networks, to the point that his Instagram account today has almost a million and a half followers.

His interventions and media appearances used to have a message of positivity and humor, sometimes at the expense of herself, but with a spontaneity that did not go unnoticed.
In 2021 the leap of ‘Locomotora’ arrived to politics, with an unsuccessful nomination to national deputy by the province of Santa Fe.
From the arrival to the government of Javier Milei, she was appointed official of the Ministry of Security of the Nation, under the orders of Patricia Bullrich, in the National Security Directorate in Sports Events.
Bullrich dismissed the exboxed on Monday on his social networks: “Locomotora, we will always remember you with that smile and that energy that characterized you. Until always, champion,” he wrote.
In April of this year, the local elections in Santa Fe enshrined it as a member of the Constituent Convention that will reform the Provincial Constitution, where he headed a right -wing minority block, but after the diagnosis and hospitalization he could not assume his constituent seat.
