Originally from Badajoz, Spain, the bullfighter Alejandro Talavante, who is part of the poster of the second anniversary run of 2025 of the Plaza Capitalina, spoke with Forbes Mexico about his past, present and future in the bullfighting world.
“Talavante”, as he is known and recognized in the main ring of the world, confesses that he was born as bullfighting without having a precedent of bullfighting in his family, emphasizing that his vocation began when he was born: “My parents were not fond of the Bulls, I have come to the conclusion that my mother gave me a bullfighter, I have dedicated my whole life to it since before 10 years. ”
At 14 he remembers he received the first 500 kilos burel and this marked the final impulse to know that he could risk everything for the profession. “Right now what makes me feel alive is bullfighting, until the body endures,” he said.
With 37 years of age, Talavante It is inspired by its bullfighting with the “Manolete” pasodoble, because, for him, the aesthetics of the party brings to society beauty, culture, music and art. “When the conjunction between the bullfighter and the bull is achieved, the most beautiful moments, colors, cheers and silence are lived, are details that only sensitivity allows perceiving like no other show.”
It was in 2007 when the matador took the alternative in Plaza “La México”, the headquarters in which this Sunday will share the Paseíllo with Fermín Rivera and Leo Valadez in Lidia de Toros de la Ganderia Hidalguense de la Mora, owned by Fernando de la Mora .
