The financial vehicle of the State Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), Fiber E, announced on Monday that the first issuance of a bonus to finance projects for the expansion and modernization of the National Transmission Network (RNT) of Mexico.
“This is the first issuance of the CFE Fiber E since 2018 and begins the implementation of the financing strategy designed by the CFE, led by teacher Emilia Calleja Alor, to materialize her strengthening and expansion plan 2025-2030,” the Mexican state-owned statement reported in a statement.
According to the CFE, the trust, created in 2018, as the first instrument of investment in energy and infrastructure in Mexico, began meetings with investors to prepare the operation this week.
The statement details that the resources obtained will be used to “strengthen and extend the electrical transmission network, considered“ indispensable for the development of all economic activities ”, as well as to guarantee access to“ reliable, affordable and clean energy ”.
The state stressed that this placement will improve the capital structure of the fiber E, expand the investor base, generate value for its holders and increase its participation as a CFE partner in the resources generated by the RNT.
In addition, it is anticipated that the bonus receives the same credit rating as the papers issued by the Government of Mexico and the CFE itself.
“It is anticipated that two of the most recognized qualifying agencies grant to this bonus the same qualification as the bonds of the Government of Mexico and the CFE, which reflects the solid performance of the RNT, its exclusive business model and the confidence in the energy plan of the administration of the president Sheinbaum,” says the note.
CFECAPITAL, administrator of the Trust, stressed that the operation will be conducted under criteria of responsibility, transparency and attachment to the best practices of the market, with the commitment to take advantage of opportunities that strengthen the investment in transmission in the coming years.
