Amazon eliminated a reference to “inclusion and diversity” in its annual report presented on Thursday, after telling employees in December that it was reducing diversity programs as part of the widest withdrawal of US companies of such policies.
Some of the largest companies in the United States have been reducing their diversity initiatives, years after promoting more inclusive policies following protests against the police murders of George Floyd and other African Americans in 2020.

Large technology companies such as Meta and Alphabet are among those that have reversed this type of programs in the face of the attacks of conservative groups, which have threatened to demand companies for them.
During the last two years, the “Human Capital” section of Amazon of its annual report said: “As we strive to be the best employer in the Earth, we focus on investment and innovation, inclusion and diversity , the security and commitment to hire and develop the best talent. ”
In the 2024 version, that sentence has been cut.
