Alessandro Modiano, Italian ambassador to Mexico, stated that the judicial reform has not affected the arrival of investments from his country to the Mexican economy.
“I have contacts with all the Italian businessmen and the CEOs of the largest companies and I do not see the judicial reform as an issue that is affecting the evaluation (to invest in the Mexican economy) and we will see how it develops,” declared in the announcement of the fourth edition of the Creative Meeting: the academic bridge between Italy and Mexican talent.
“At this moment it does not seem to me to be an issue and we have to see how the judicial reform is implemented and there if something could change and at this moment I do not see it as an issue,” he stated.

He expressed that the judicial reform has to move to a more concrete phase, “and we are going to see what happens and it can change a lot, it already happened in the beginning and we are going to see how it adapts with the details.”
“It is not an issue of reactivation, but rather it is an issue that Italian companies have been investing for a long time and the framework is exactly the same,” he said after being asked if there were already investment announcements from Italian firms.
“For us, the framework shown by the government of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is positive, so we are pushing for Italian companies to continue investing in Mexico,” he noted.
He said that with the government transition there is a pause and that it is necessary to strengthen the investments that are already in Mexico.
He declared that Italian companies that are already in Mexico are strengthening and increasing investments, especially Pirelli, Eni and Ene.
