América Móvil’s profits in the third quarter grew 253% annually to 22.7 billion pesos.
Meanwhile, revenues increased 4.2% to 232,919 million pesos, and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew 5% to 93,800 million pesos.
The group controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim’s family cited a roughly halving reduction in comprehensive financial costs compared to the same quarter last year as the reason for the rise in its results.
América Móvil added just over 3 million postpaid mobile telephone customers. Brazil was the main contributor with 1.5 million, followed by Colombia with 251 thousand, Peru with 198 thousand and Mexico with 98 thousand.

The prepaid platform recorded net disconnections of 31 thousand, the result of losses in Brazil, Ecuador and Chile, which offset the net additions of subscribers obtained in several countries including Argentina with 253 thousand, Colombia with 237 thousand and Mexico with 136 thousand.
América Móvil recorded its highest growth in mobile services revenue in more than a year, with an increase of 7%.
Its fixed segment added some 526,000 connections, mainly in its national market of Mexico.
