América Móvil reported that it will challenge the new resolution imposed on it by the IFT, considering that it does not consider the “profound changes” that have occurred more than 10 years after the establishment of asymmetric measures after being considered predominant in the telecommunications sector.
Carlos Slim’s consortium argued in a notice to the investing public that the measures announced this Wednesday are not based on a comprehensive evaluation of the existing competition in the markets that make up the sector.
He also maintained that the determinations, such as the elimination of minimum or forced plans for clients, respond to requests from competitors not committed to the development of the sector “who seek to maintain subsidies and regulatory privileges from the IFT to supply the productive investments required to compete effectively.” ”.

The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) announced that América Móvil must deliver unlocked equipment, avoid conditions for obtaining equipment and services, and eliminate forced deadlines for contracting telephone and internet, among other measures, to promote greater competition for the benefit of users.
These determinations arise from the third review of the asymmetric measures imposed on América Móvil in 2014 after being considered a predominant economic agent in the telecommunications sector.
