‘Anora’ was the winner of the 97th edition of the Oscar Awards after conquering five of the six categories I aspired, including best film and best actress for Mikey Madison.

Mikey Madison was consecrated this Sunday with the first Oscar of his career for best actress for his role in ‘Anora’, thus beating another favorite, Demi Moore (‘The Substance’), to the Spanish Karla Sofía Gascón (‘Emilia Pérez’), the Brazilian Fernanda Torres (‘I’m Still Here’) and Cynthia Erivo (‘Wicked’).

“It’s a dream come true and I don’t want to wake up tomorrow,” Masidon said after collecting the award.

The American actress wanted to dedicate this award to the community of sex workers to whom she will continue to “always support” and will always be an ally of the sector.

He also wanted to thank the opportunity he gave Sean Baker to star in this film, who portrays the story of an American sex worker who marries the son of a Russian oligarch.

‘Anora’ was shot with a budget of six million dollars, a fairly low amount for a Hollywood production and has won multiple awards after its premiere, such as the golden palm or the Hollywood critics award (Critics Choice).

Together with Moore, the actress was emerging as one of the favorites to win this award for how the awards season has been developed: she achieved the BAFTA, the recognition of critics (Critics Choice) and the Spirit of Independent Cinema for Best Women’s Interpreter.
