The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) arrested Ricardo M., chief dispatcher on the train that derailed on December 28 in southern Mexico, for his alleged responsibility in the accident that caused the death of 14 people, according to the National Detention Registry.
With this new arrest, two railway workers have been detained, after the arrest of the Interoceanic Train driver was announced on Monday.
Both face charges of manslaughter and negligent injuries by the Public Ministry, according to local media.
The head of the dispatchers, who was in charge of directing the movement of the trains, is also accused by the FGR of not having a valid railway license at the time of the accident.
He was detained by members of the Federal Ministerial Police in Veracruz, after which he was taken to the Chiapas criminal justice center.
Precisely, this Wednesday the Government announced the comprehensive reparation process for the victims of the Interoceanic Train accident.

President Claudia Sheinbaum insisted on conveying her support to all the family members affected by the fatal accident, while reporting that, currently, only one person remains hospitalized, while the rest of the injured have already been discharged.
This repair announcement occurs one day after the head of the FGR, Ernestina Godoy, reported that excessive speed caused the derailment of the Interoceanic Train in Oaxaca.
According to the agency, after analyzing the train’s “black box” it was concluded that the unit was traveling at 65 kilometers per hour on the curve where the derailment occurred, when the maximum allowed speed is only 50 km/h.
