A Court of Appeals lifted on Thursday the blockade ordered the previous day by another Court to a good part of the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump to his commercial partners.
The measure pauses “until again notice” the judgment of the International Trade Court, which paralyzed on Wednesday the global taxes announced on April 2 and other previous ones against Canada, Mexico and China, while the judges review the appeal motions presented by the Government.
When the judicial blockade appealed to its tariff policy, the Administration warned that it would take the case tomorrow before the Supreme if a temporary order was not issued before the ruling.
Although the veto ordered by the International Trade Court is temporarily without effect, the Federal Court of the Columbia district in turn issued today another ruling that also blocks the application of the same tariffs referred to in the sentence of the eve.
Wednesday’s ruling occurred by estimating three judges that the president exceeded his authority when using the Law of Economic Powers in International Emergencies (IEEPA), invoked to announce the commercial measures mentioned above.

The White House insisted that those three judges of the International Trade Court “abused” of their power “to usurp the authority of President Trump and prevent him from fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by the American people.”
“EU cannot work if President Trump, or any other president, sees his delicate diplomatic or commercial negotiations frustrated by activist judges,” spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said Thursday at a press conference at the Executive Residence.
Leavitt insisted that “there is a worrying and dangerous tendency of non -elected judges involved in the presidential decision -making process,” in reference to blockages in different courts of the country against controversial measures promoted by Trump in his first months of mandate.

The spokeswoman warned the countries that are in the midst of commercial negotiations with Washington “that the president reserves other tariff faculties” to guarantee “that the interests of the US are restored throughout the world.”
