Some artificial intelligence improvements for Apple’s voice assistant, Siri, will be delayed until 2026, the company announced Friday.
In a statement, Apple said that it has “been working on a more personalized Siri, giving greater knowledge of your personal context, as well as the ability to perform actions for you within your applications and among them. It will take more time than we planned to fulfill these functions and anticipate implementing them in next year. ”
Apple did not give a reason for delays. The iPhone manufacturer had previously indicated that these functions would arrive in 2025.
Last year, Apple announced a series of functions promoted by artificial intelligence called Apple Intelligence, which included new capacities such as rewriting emails and summarizing saturated entry trays.

Some of the most important improvements were aimed at giving Siri the ability to interact with applications and complete tasks for the user taking advantage of the information stored in Apple devices.
Apple gave examples such as asking Siri to reproduce a Pódcast recommended by a friend or show a relative monitoring information of a relative, all based on the data stored on the device.
The company has been building a vast cloud computing infrastructure that operates with its own chips, in an effort to maintain its privacy position while offering artificial intelligence functions. Apple has said that Siri processes 1.5 billion users requests per day.
Apple’s rivals have also been hurry to add artificial intelligence functions to their voice assistants. Alphabet, the Google parent company, added the Gemini model to its assistant last year.
