Apple equips its airpods with live translation in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German thanks to its new operating system, iOS 26, which is launched on Monday to compatible devices.
As of today, the Airpods Pro 2 and Airpods 4 with noise cancellation, matched with iPhones compatible with Apple Intelligence – the artificial intelligence of Apple – can use the application ‘translate’ of the iPhone to achieve live translations between English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.
The users of the new Airpods Pro 3, who go on sale this Friday, September 19, can also enjoy this pioneer.
According to EFE, the translation has a delay, which is normal in this type of technology, and makes some mistakes.
You can only choose a predetermined voice – the same as Sir – for translation, even if it is sought to translate what says more than one person, which can be confusing. Other translators in real time, such as Google Pixel, can use a voice similar to the interlocutor.
From a technological perspective, the airpods listen to what the other person tells you, that audio is sent to the iPhone, where IA models translate each sentence into the device and send the audio back to the airpods.

In addition, at no time the conversation is saved on the device.
It is not necessary to have an Internet connection to use this tool, as long as the user has previously downloaded the languages he wants to use.
Ideally, both parts of the conversation have AirPods, but it is not necessary, since the new application shows on the iPhone screen the transcription in real time in both languages.
At the end of this year other languages such as Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and Italian will be available.
The new Airpods Pro 3 with heart rate sensors
On September 19 they will go on sale, for 249, the new Airpods Pro 3, a device that has a better noise cancellation, longer battery life, and better water and sweat resistance.

This new model has managed to improve its noise cancellation thanks to a new “multiport acoustic architecture” and offering consumers five silicone pads and foam of different sizes to adapt to different forms of ear.
The new Pro batteries can endure eight hours of music playback with the cancellation of activated noise, compared to the six hours of the Pro 2 model. However, the new Pro load case only offers 24 hours of listening, compared to the previous 30 hours.
Other novelties is that each headset has a small sensor that emits an invisible infrared light to measure the pulse while the user does sports, which together with the ‘APP’ fitness (plus a new function in iOS 26) allows users to see their real -time performance metrics, such as heart rate or burned calories.
Meanwhile, this new function offers similar information to that of an smart watch and the two devices can be used at the same time to monitor a sports activity.
