The Apple company said Thursday that if the high tariffs raised by the US president, Donald Trump, they remain at the current level will have an impact of about 900 million dollars in costs for the company next quarter.

“We cannot accurately estimate the impact of the encumbrances, but, assuming that the current global tariff types do not change for the rest of the quarter, we estimate that the impact will add 900 million dollars on our costs,” said Apple’s maximum executive, Tim Cook, in a call with investors to socialize the quarterly results of the company.

Cook clarified that this estimate “should not be used” to make projections on future patterns, since the third quarter – which for the company ends in June, since it does not follow the natural commercial calendar – it is also benefited by other factors.

In addition, the Executive Director stressed that the entity will manage this economic panorama making “meditated and deliberate decisions with the focus on investing long term and dedication to innovation.”

The tycoon also indicated that the majority of the iPhones sold in the United States will come from India, while almost all iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Airpods will be manufactured in Vietnam, two countries with some tariff types lower than those of China.

However, China will continue to be the origin of the vast majority of total sales of products outside the US.

The call to investors came shortly after Apple published its results of the second quarter of its fiscal year and first of 2025, when its profits increased by 4.8%, to 24,780 million dollars, while its income grew by 5.07%.

According to Cook, which in recent months has shown a remarkable approach with Trump, as well as other technological leaders, the encumbrances had a limited effect these three months, since the company optimized its supply chain and stocks.
