Like any disruptive invention, artificial intelligence (AI) challenges us to be responsible and integrate skills to use it correctly, said Alberto ‘Tito’ Indacochea, director of Artificial Intelligence for IBM in Latin America.
He said that when the first men in history created the knife, they took advantage of the ease that the tool gave them.
He explained that the man could cut food and vines that were very useful to him and everything was very positive, but he also saw that he could cause injuries and even kill.
“And then, just as with the knife, artificial intelligence requires that people know how to use it responsibly, and that they also acquire skills so that its use is favorable,” he declared at the Forbes Economy & Business Forum.

Alberto ‘Tito’ Indacochea gave a masterclass on whether artificial intelligence can be the rocket of creativity and the economy.
“There is responsibility and risk with any technology, now businesses have it with artificial intelligence,” he added in his presentation at the closing of the first day of the Forbes Forum held in Mexico City.
At the end of his speech, the specialist invited attendees to analyze how artificial intelligence will impact their business, and how they should encourage their talents to acquire new skills to use it.
Likewise, he invited not to fear artificial intelligence.
“More than 40 years ago, computers were distrusted, it was thought that they would be a ‘Terminator,’” he commented, referring to the expectation that the machine could come to life and harm us, which did not happen.
