Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) signed a contract to acquire the airport portfolio of Brazilian infrastructure operator Motiva for some 11.5 billion reais ($2.16 billion), including net debt, both companies reported Tuesday.
ASUR will pay 5 billion reais for Motiva’s stake in the airports, while the remaining amount will be financed through net debt, according to a document filed with the Motiva Securities Commission.
The acquisition announcement was made in early November.
The sale, which still requires approval from antitrust authorities, includes Motiva’s stakes in 17 Brazilian airports and international hubs in Quito (Ecuador), San José (Costa Rica) and Curacao.
According to Motiva, these airports serve about 45 million passengers a year.
