Authorities arrested this Tuesday in Jalisco two men identified as financial operators of the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, and recognized as the father-in-law and brother-in-law of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, son of drug trafficker Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán.
According to a statement released this Tuesday by the Security Cabinet, in two different actions four men were arrested, including -the brother-in-law- Mario Alfredo Lindoro, also known as El 7, and -the father-in-law- Mario Lindoro Elenes, nicknamed El Niño.
The operation was led by agents from the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the National Guard (GN) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).
“In two actions in the states of Sinaloa and Jalisco, four people were detained, one of them identified as the leader of a criminal group and two more as financial operators of a criminal group,” the note detailed.
In Jalisco, federal forces executed search warrants at two homes in the municipality of Zapopan, in the towns of Bajío Zapopan and Vallarta Universidad.
The operation derived from lines of investigation, which presented “sufficient evidence” before a Control Judge to intervene in the properties.

Two men were detained there, one 44 years old and the other 69 years old, identified as the brother-in-law and father-in-law of Archivaldo Guzmán, respectively, and described by the authority as “financial operators of a criminal group.”
During the searches, the authorities seized “four firearms, doses of drugs, three high-end vehicles, cell phones and electronic equipment,” according to the official statement.
Parallel operation in Sinaloa
In the state of Sinaloa, in the port of Mazatlán, the operation focused on an alleged “leader of a criminal cell with a presence in the region and with three arrest warrants in force,” who was located in the Los Caracoles neighborhood when he was traveling in a vehicle with another person.
The criminal was identified as Carlos Gabriel N, alias El Pollo, alleged leader of the Los Jordan group.
After the security operation, the authorities found two firearms, 51 cartridges, a bag with marijuana and radio communication and telephone equipment.
