Authorities find 9 bodies of dismembered young people in Puebla • Forbes Mexico

The dismembered bodies of nine young people, four women and five men, allegedly students, who were originally from the state of Tlaxcala, were found on Sunday night in the municipality of San José Miahuatlán, state of Puebla, state authorities reported Monday.

The nine young people had been reported as missing since last February 27 when they traveled to beaches from the state of Oaxaca, south of the country.

The State Government confirmed the discovery of the bodies and at a press conference the head of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), Idamis Pastor Betancourt, said: “So far I cannot offer information, there are lines of investigation, but I cannot say them by stealth.”

“All relevant investigations are being done, when there is already an answer and a finished investigation, at that time we will be able to give more information,” added the official.

According to security sources, the finding occurred when agents of the National Guard fulfilled a surveillance route at kilometer 83 of the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca Highway, in the municipality of San José Miahuatlán, in the limits of Puebla and Oaxaca, where they found an abandoned vehicle a few meters full of blood that covered several dismembered bodies.

The first versions indicate that the bodies had bullet impacts and torture footprints.

Meanwhile, in the state of Oaxaca, the head of the State Commission for the search for missing persons, Michel Julián, explained that after the discovery of the nine bodies they work in collaboration with authorities of Puebla.

For its part, the Attorney General of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) explained, in a statement, that he received two complaints for the non -location of four people originating in the state of Tlaxcala, who were last seen in the region of the coast and of which it was possible to find the whereabouts of one of them.

He pointed out that the cases were in charge of the unity of not located people (DNOL) and the search unit of missing persons of the general vice -prosecutor for victims’ care and society.

The FGEO explained that in a first fact two women were last viewed on February 27 in Santa María Huatulco and traveled to in a compact vehicle with circulation plates of the state of Yucatan.

While in a second fact a man and a woman were last seen on February 28 at the beach of Zipolite, in San Pedro Pochutla, Oaxaca. Without offering more details.
