The data also indicate that sales to individuals in the first six months of the year will be at 6,674,800 vehicles, an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period of 2024.
In June, JD Power anticipates the sale of 1,247,900 new vehicles, 2.5% more than in the same month of 2024, once the volume was adjusted to the number of business days.
But the firm recalled in a statement that the June 2024 sales were lower than normal due to the failure of the computer system of many concessionaires in the country, so the comparison between periods does not reflect reality.
In addition, Thomas King, president of the JD Power Analysis Division, indicated that the June 2025 figures were lower than normal because many consumers advanced the purchase of new vehicles in the months of March and April for fear of a rise in prices due to the tariff war of the US president, Donald Trump.

“In those months, approximately 173,000 extra vehicles were sold when buyers advanced the acquisitions in advance of future price increases for tariffs,” King said.
The expert finally warned that, except in some cases, in general the prices of the vehicles have not yet risen for the tariffs in part thanks to the incentives that manufacturers are offering, which currently amount to an average of $ 2,727 per car.
JD Power also encrypted the benefit per new vehicle sold to an individual at $ 2,380, so it is estimated that US consumers will spend about 45,000 million dollars in cars in June.
Automobile manufacturers are concentrating on sales to individuals, which leave a greater unitary benefit than fleet sales, which fell 12.7% in June, to 231,081 units.
The percentage of US vehicles on the total number of sold in the country in June will be 54.8%, 1.4 percentage points more than in 2024.
