The Association of Avocado Producers and Packers of Mexico (APEAM) reported that exports of the fruit for Super Bowl LIX will be approximately 110 thousand tons, similar to last year.

This figure is a reflection of the hard work, adaptation and dedication of thousands of Mexicans, including producers, packers, agronomists, field technicians, supervisors and fruit selectors, the organization based in Uruapan, Michoacán, said in a statement.

He added that they are the only Mexican cooperating partner for the export of avocado from Mexico to the United States, which is why it has become a benchmark to follow for other agro-industrial products worldwide.

He commented that the Hass avocado has become an essential element at Super Bowl gatherings due to its flavor, creamy texture and versatility.

The fruit grown and harvested in Michoacán and Jalisco is the basis of the guacamole that is eaten during the days leading up to and during the Super Bowl. Mexico is the world’s largest producer of avocados.

Super Bowl LIX will be held on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The APEAM said that the Super Bowl has a significant impact on the Mexican and American economies.

The United States is the main consumer of avocado with a per capita consumption of 4.1 kilos and avocados from Mexico are exported to more than 34 countries.

“For this season, ‘Avocados From Mexico’, as part of the national campaign, partnered with star Rob Gronkowski, former player of the six-time NFL champion New England Patriots, to help shoppers prepare for their holidays. and Super Bowl gatherings,” the statement said.
