The Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM) highlighted its participation as a member of the Advisory Council for Regional Economic Development and Business Relocation (CADERR), which was announced this morning by President Claudia Sheinbaum.

“In particular, it celebrates the inclusion of prominent banking figures who, with their experience, vision and financial knowledge, will contribute to making this Advisory Council a key element in attracting investments, with an emphasis on a regional development approach, which allows us to fulfill the presidential vision of generating shared prosperity,” the organization chaired by Julio Carranza highlighted in a document.

Carranza had commented that the bank has 2 trillion pesos to provide loans to companies so that they can grow their operations due to the demand for products that nearshoring attracts.

What is the Economic Development Advisory Council?

Sheinbaum highlighted that the council has been working for months and that with the help of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) it seeks to strengthen the relocation of companies in Mexico.

“It is not just another piece of advice, but we already have work developed that has to do with the poles of well-being, if you remember we worked on it and presented it from the campaign, which is the regional development of the country based on its productive vocations,” Sheinbaum highlighted during his press conference.

“The work that this council is going to develop with the secretariats is to promote the different projects in the country that are part of what we call Plan Mexico,” he highlighted.

Altagracia Gómez, coordinator of the Business Council of the federal government, said that the council will be made up of 15 businessmen, and that it will seek to take advantage of Mexico’s moment in the world through the relocation of companies.
