Banco de México announced the circulation of a silver commemorative currency and legal tender tickets with a special legend, with which it seeks to highlight its role as a fundamental institution for the economic stability of the country.
The currency, coined by the Mint of Mexico, has a facial value of 10 pesos, although its true value lies in its composition: it contains two ounces of pure silver with law 0.999, it measures 48 millimeters in diameter and has high quality finishes that make it a collection piece, according to a statement from the monetary entity on purpose anniversary of its foundation.
On the obverse, the national shield surrounded by historical emblems and the eagle of the Mendoza Codex is observed, while on the reverse the central building of Banco de México accompanied accompanied by the centenary logo “100 anniversary 1925-2025” appears.

The Central Institute said that these pieces will retain all their security characteristics and can be used normally for any transaction. The issuance of this commemorative currency will be limited, which increases its symbolic and attractive value for collectors. It can be acquired through the Mint of Mexico, authorized distributors and the Interactive Museum of Economics, while tickets will be available in banking institutions throughout the country through direct exchange for its nominal value.
