Banxico reported a remnant of operation of exercise 2024 of 17,994.8 million pesos, which will be delivered before the month to the federal government, as marked by the law of the Central Bank.
“The determination of the remnant of operation was made in strict adherence to the Law of the Bank of Mexico and, therefore, in compliance with the constitutional mandate of the central institute to maintain low and stable inflation,” said the monetary entity in a statement on Monday.
Banxico explained that the net result of the 2024 exercise was 836,766.8 MDP, and that of that amount 737,539.8 MDP allocated to the amortization of accumulated losses of previous exercises.
On the other hand, in observance of article 53 of his law, Banxico approved to increase the amount of the capital reserve by 81,232.2 MDP.
“Any monetary impact that generates the use of the remnant of operation by the federal government will be sterilized by this central bank through open market operations,” he said.
