From the Yankees and the New York Mets to the Houston Astros and the Royal Kansas City, the world of the MLB honored on Tuesday to former Dominican Dominican Octavio Dotel, who died in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) for the collapse of the roof of a disco.
“We regret the death of Octavio Dotel. Our thoughts are with all those affected by tragedy in the Dominican Republic,” the Mets wrote on their social networks, in which the Dominican militated in 1999.
The Mets players also honored Dotel’s memory before his game on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins.
The New York neighbors of the Mets, the Yankees, also reacted to the tragedy of Santo Domingo.
“The Yankees regret the death of the former Yankees Octavio Dotel and extend their deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Octavio,” wrote the New York franchise.
Dotel was also five years in Houston, competing with the Astros uniform.

“We have the heart shattered to find out the tragic news that the former Astros Octavio Dotel stars was one of the many people who died when a roof collapsed in the Dominican Republic last night,” reads the Astros note.
