A leadership change is underway at one of North Texas’ largest and best-known residential real estate brokerages.
Betsy Cameron was named president of Ebby Halliday Companies, taking over from Carolyn Rosson, who will take the role of chairman, the Dallas Business Journal reported.
Cameron will oversee Ebby Halliday’s strategy, operations and future growth, guiding the company’s leadership in the highly competitive Dallas-Fort Worth real estate market.
Cameron’s appointment marks a significant milestone in her career. With 20 years of real estate experience, she has risen through the ranks since joining the Plano-based brokerage in 2019.
She initially took on the role of sales leader at the company’s iconic Little White House office, at 5999 West Northwest Highway in Dallas, before leading two additional offices under the company’s Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate brand. Most recently, Cameron served as senior vice president of operations for the firm.
Rosson’s decision to step down from her role as president and CEO comes after 45 years of service to the company. Rosson joined Ebby Halliday at age 21, working under the company’s legendary namesake, and has been instrumental in its growth and success. Although she is stepping back from daily operations, she will stay on as chairman and to assist in the leadership transition.
“I leave with a full heart and immense pride in what we’ve accomplished together,” Rosson said.
As one of the top residential real estate brokerages by sales volume in Texas and the U.S., Ebby Halliday has become a key player in the industry. Established in 1945, the company employed nearly 1,800 licensed agents across DFW last year and handled $8.2 billion in home sales for 2023.
In 2018, HomeServices of America, a division of Berkshire Hathaway, acquired Ebby Halliday Companies. Following the acquisition, HomeServices adopted a structure where local leadership holds the title of president without the CEO designation.
