A failure in an electricity transmission line caused a blackout in Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo, President Claudia Sheinbaum reported Friday.

“CFE informs me that generation plants are fine and work to recover the service in the three states,” he said in the social network X.

The company reported by the same route as a failure in the electricity supply in the Yucatan Peninsula that has affected the service in different areas.

“The specialized CFE personnel in coordination with CENACE (National Energy Control Center), are already working to restore service in the shortest possible time,” CFE said.

The blackout left without electricity to localities such as Cancun, Tulum, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Chetumal, according to information from Quadratín Mexico.
