The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco) of Mexico City said that the existence of 600 commercial places and wineries where they sell Chinese smuggling are giving up and moving away to the formal trade and inhabitants of the historic center.
“Today there are more than 600 wineries and commercial squares operated by Chinese entrepreneurs, many of which have invaded historical buildings and converted parking lots with an irregular use of real estate,” said the agency led by
Vicente Gutiérrez Camposeco.
Chinese trade rents housing departments of the streets of Peña and Peña, Manuel Doblado and Bolivia to turn them into cellars and illegal squares of smuggling, he said.
The illegal places are like the one closed in Izazaga 89, which was intervened to operate without permits and for representing structural and civil protection risks.
The weight of the merchandise stored in real estate not designed as wineries is a latent danger for the inhabitants of Mexico City, said the agency where small trade is affiliated.
He added that the illegal operation and structural risks due to the operation of Chinese places have generated some fires, which have been registered in recent months.
Also, the invasion of Chinese businessmen has generated a displacement of traditional trade, said the Canaco of Mexico City.
He recalled that there are more than 3,500 Asian establishments, representing 20 percent of the total in the area, which affects historical businesses such as wedding and furniture dresses stores, among many more.
There is up to 60 percent in sales for many national companies as a result of the distribution of Chinese products, many of them of poor quality and doubtful hospitalization to the country, he added.
He said that much of the Chinese merchandise is downloaded from the trailers at night, which has generated an invasion of “devilists” in the area.
The sale of Chinese smuggling unleashed the commercial gentrification phenomenon, which has displaced the resident population, he said.
“There is knowledge of the use of alleged indigenous organizations, which are used as a facade to market Chinese products,” he said.
