Britney Spears claims she is “lucky to be alive” in a recent social media post blasting her family.
The ‘Baby One More Time’ singer took to Instagram on February 4, posting an image of a baby clutching the finger of an adult’s hand. Spears wrote a lengthy message alongside the image. “As people, all we really want is to feel connected to each other and never feel alone…” the post reads. “For those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out… They were wrong.”
The post continues, “We can forgive as people but u don’t ever forget. Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial!!!”
Spears then takes aim at her family, admitting she is scared of them. “I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I’m scared of them. It’s weird how God works in mysterious ways. My friends, what do you think he is saying today??? Because to be totally honest with you, no matter what he says, they will never take responsibility for what they did.”
The ‘Womanizer’ singer concludes her post saying she made cheesecake. Spears also claimed she has not danced in a month owing to a broken toe.
Around the same time, the ‘Toxic’ artist re-uploaded a video of herself dancing. She also reposted an image by Carriedraw of two women enjoying gelato outside a shop.
The pop star’s February post isn’t the first time she has mentioned her family recently. Spears posted a message on December 28, alongside an image of a Christmas Tree. “Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma, the kind you can’t fix,” she wrote. “To my dear sweet innocent family…So sorry I was busy this Christmas but I will definitely show up and surprise you soon.”
The note appears to address Jamie Lynn’s daughter, Ivey, per People. “Hello, beautiful Ivy … I just want to hold you, my love … Godspeed, friends,” the post concludes. People revealed that the ‘I’m A Slave 4 U singer spent that Christmas with her 19-year-old son, Jayden whom she shares with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. The outlet also notes that Spears addressed the relationship with her family in her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
