Mexico City.- The head of government, Clara Brugada, said that her administration seeks to boost a 2026 World Cup “without discrimination or xenophobia.”

He also invited businessmen to join the project carried out by his government around the World Cup, with the aim of guaranteeing a friendly capital with tourists and where the rights of all citizens are guaranteed.

“That is why the work that is done on the subject is so important and we do not see that there may be problems for the World Cup, all the necessary conditions will be taken,” he added.
“It is a difficult situation because it means regulating a topic that has to do with economic and tourist income, we have to think about the vision of the city we want,” Brugada said.
His statements arise after the anti -encentrification march that took place last Friday, and which resulted in the destruction of at least 15 premises, in addition to the slogans such as: “Outo gringos.”
