Clara Brugada, head of government of Mexico City, stated that the tenth edition of the Formula One Grand Prix will leave an economic impact of more than 20,000 million pesos.

“This tenth edition of the Mexican Grand Prix will break records in tourism, economy and jobs. We expect an economic impact that will reach 20,000 million pesos, a hotel occupancy of almost 90 percent and almost 9,000 jobs will be generated just for these three days,” he stated.

The head of government was present at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, where this weekend a new date for the Formula 1 championship will be held, to inaugurate the Mexico City Pavilions to which fans attending the competition will be able to enter.

“This exhibition is a thematic space that shows the world what this city is. In it we frame the 700 years of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan; we take a tour of the traditional day of the dead and what this city is preparing for the 2026 World Cup,” he said.

Clara Brugada highlighted the relevance that the Mexican capital will gain worldwide with the organization of the greatest motorsport event, which she said is guaranteed until 2028, and the organization of next year’s Soccer World Cup.

“Mexico City is the capital of world-class sporting events. It is a champion because each of the international events is done well and the participants and visitors leave happy with each visit,” he said.

The president highlighted that the success of the Grand Prix will be supported by an extensive security program.

“We will have a very complete security device that includes permanent prevention, surveillance and security actions. 3,900 police officers and 400 official vehicles will be in operation. We want to project to the world all the good things we have,” Brugada concluded.
