As part of the 2026 Economic Package of Mexico City, the head of Government announced the extension of the 100% subsidy for vehicle ownership for cars that do not exceed 638 thousand pesos in total invoice value, according to a report by Quadratin México.

“There is a subsidy for vehicle ownership, for these cars with a value of less than 638 thousand pesos; that is, more than double what was subsidized until now; almost triple,” Clara Brugada declared this Thursday.

He recalled that previously the tax value of the car should not exceed 250 thousand pesos.

The initiative is part of the package sent to the capital’s Congress on November 28 for analysis and approval.
