Bullfighting is no exception. On a date where the rights of all women are celebrated and the objective is to sensitize society and enhance gender equality, the national bullfighting party once again does the same in the Plaza La México.

Although it is not the first time that bullfighter women step on this emblematic ring, every afternoon it represents a step forward in the inclusion and recognition of female talent in bullfighting. Thus, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, this Sunday, March 9, the Monumental La México Plaza will carry out a run where the protagonists will be the rejoneadora Stefanía Uribe, the killer Paola San Román and the confirmation of alternative of the Spanish Rocío Romero.

Undoubtedly, a female poster that must resonate the “ole” not only for being unique, and by the date on which it will be held, but because it happens at a time where the culture by the bull has once again been questioned and must be defended.

With 10 years of having taken the alternative, in an interview for Forbes Mexico, the one born in Mexico City, Paola San Román said that it will undoubtedly be a very special afternoon not only for her, but also for the fans, tradition and above all, for her gender. “I hope that people go very happy this Sunday, that women enjoy and reflect the passion with which I make my bullfighting.”

Paola is defined as a classic, artistic, charismatic bullfighter, who reaches people and enjoys being in front of bulls. “I come from a bullfighting family, from my grandfather, uncles, dad and cousins ​​(Diego San Román current bullfighter). I grew up listening, seeing and living this culture, which today I have been able to proudly represent it in countries such as France, Colombia and of course, Spain. ”

After having practiced ballet, taekwondo, swimming and football in his childhood, and adolescence, San Román debuted at age 14 as a bullfight in juriquilla, Querétaro, and today he maintains that bullfighting is his life. “I would like to mark an era in Mexican bullfighting and be a world figure that is remembered for the footprint I left and my contribution,” he concluded.

“I’ve always fought with cause”

“Without a doubt, being in Mexico is a watershed in my career. This run I would like to dedicate it to Conchita Cintrón First Rejoneadora in the world and Álvaro Domecq who also fought for cause, are inspiration in my passion. ” Uribe Curn, will be presented this Sunday on the capital stage with five blood horses of the Spanish rejoneador and one owned by his iron.
