The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) reported that in the next two weeks the business plan for Pemex and CFE under the public company regime will be announced.

Undersecretary Edgar Amador Zamora said that there is very close collaboration on the part of the Treasury, Energy and state companies teams.

“To not only configure the fiscal edges but also help support them in what is within our reach to make the financial position of companies more efficient and design a tax scheme that is convenient for both companies and the public treasury,” he stated. during a conference on public finances in the third quarter.

“We are working with them very intensely and very directly on instructions from the president (Claudia Sheinbaum) and the Secretary of the Treasury (Rogelio Ramírez de la O). The teams have met regularly during these weeks,” he stressed.

The general director of Pemex, Víctor Rodríguez Padilla, reported yesterday that he is working with the Treasury to develop a renewed fiscal regime, and to address the current liquidity situation by designing a strategy to strengthen the company’s finances, which will involve continuing to receive federal government resources.

In that sense, the undersecretary confirmed that the government will continue to support Pemex operationally and financially.

“The collaboration and joint work has been quite intense these weeks that we have in this administration and the set of tools with which the company (Pemex) and the Ministry of Finance have been conducting themselves in the last couple of years will continue to exist” , he stated.

“The solutions, the financial and budgetary support, will go more or less along the lines that have been followed recently, they are solutions already known to the general public, to investors, to the markets, we are going to continue along those lines that we know” , he added.

The official specified that the short and medium term intention is for Pemex, both operationally and financially, to be a company that contributes to the public treasury in a solid way and has a sustainable operation on its own terms.
