Cibanco reported that the Visa payments “unilaterally decided” to disconnect its platform for all international card transactions issued by the lender, especially, Cicash Multicurrency.
He explained that the measure was derived from the US Treasury announcement last week in a statement, where the department referred to an alleged money laundering linked to drug trafficking
He presented in a statement that the measure was announced suddenly yesterday at 8:00 p.m. and then ratified until today at 12:30 pm.
He said that the visa measure had an effect from 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
He assured his clients that his resources are well protected and that they can be reimbursed through the branch network in the origin currency “(in case of existence of the currency) or in national currency by the method that the client decides”.

“We reiterated to our clients that it was a decision outside Cibanco, which fails to comply with the 21 -day period in the aforementioned statement of the Treasury Department,” he said.
Last week the investment trusts in real estate inn and terrafina took distance from Cibanco, disconnecting it as its fiducidary, after the accusation of the treasure against the bank for alleged money laundering.
The treasure on Wednesday prohibited certain transfers to Cibanco, Intercam and Vector Casa de Bolsa, after identifying them as “a main concern in money laundering in relation to illicit opioid traffic”, something that the three denied.
On Thursday the financial regulator of Mexico intervened the three financial institutions to avoid any interruption to the Mexican banking system.
