Capital One has just added JetBlue Airways as a transfer partner as of Feb. 18, 2025, making it possible for cardholders once again to transfer Capital One miles to JetBlue at a 5:3 ratio. This means if you transfer 5,000 Capital One miles to JetBlue, you’ll receive 3,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points.
JetBlue has been a transfer partner of Capital One in the past, but the partnership ended in 2021. For the past three years, there hasn’t been a single domestic airline partner on Capital One’s list of 17 transfer partners. Meanwhile, Chase, American Express and Citi cardholders with certain cards have long been able to transfer their credit card rewards to JetBlue and other U.S.-based airlines.
So now that JetBlue is a transfer partner, should you move Capital One miles to the airline’s TrueBlue program? The short answer: Probably not. Other credit card issuers offer more favorable transfer ratios for JetBlue than Capital One. But if you need to top off your account, it’s nice to have the option.
JetBlue returns to Capital One’s miles transfer program
The JetBlue TrueBlue program is now on the long list of Capital One miles transfer programs. Most of these programs transfer Capital One miles at a ratio of 1:1 in the corresponding airline or hotel program. The transfer to JetBlue is one of the outliers, converting to JetBlue TrueBlue points at a ratio of 5:3.
This transfer ratio makes the math a little more complicated. If you transfer 10,000 Capital One miles to JetBlue, you’ll only get 6,000 JetBlue points. Capital One miles are worth 1 cent if you book travel in the Capital One travel portal, so 10,000 Capital One miles would be worth $100 in the travel portal. 6,000 JetBlue miles would be worth $90 using NerdWallet’s valuation of JetBlue points at 1.5 cents each.
Remember JetBlue uses a dynamic pricing model for its own flights, which means on flights with more demand, the cost in points will be much higher than on less-popular flights.

Other JetBlue transfer programs
JetBlue also participates in other transfer programs. This means that if you don’t have Capital One miles or not enough in the account you do have, there are other options to earn more or top up TrueBlue for a potential award redemption. In addition to Capital One miles, these include:
-
American Express Membership Rewards (transfer ratio 5:4).
-
Chase Ultimate Rewards® (transfer ratio 1:1).
-
Citi ThankYou Rewards (transfer ratio 1:1 for most cards; some cards 5:4).
If you have a Chase or Citi card that offers access to the 1:1 transfer ratio, you should transfer those points instead of your Capital One miles or AmEx points.
Even with AmEx and Citi’s 5:4 transfer ratios, you’ll end up with more JetBlue points than you would with a Capital One transfer.
Best use of JetBlue points
There are a lot of great uses for TrueBlue points. One of our favorites is finding low-priced, first class JetBlue Mint seats on transcontinental or transatlantic flights where you can recline in a fully-flat bed and enjoy onboard dining.

So when should you transfer Capital One points to JetBlue?
If you are eyeing a JetBlue flight on points and you have a Capital One Venture or Spark card, it may make sense to transfer your Capital One miles to book that flight if you need to top off your account.
You’ll be giving up a little bit of value by transferring your Capital One miles to JetBlue in most cases, though. And you might actually save miles by booking the same flight through the Capital One portal. But if you already have some JetBlue TrueBlue points and you just need a few thousand more for an award flight, then transferring from Capital One is worth it in a pinch.
