The Attorney General of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) reported that a bump in the asphalt was not the cause of the overturning and explosion of a gas pipe on the Concorda bridge, in Iztapalapa, according to information from Quadratín Mexico.

After three days of expert opinions at the site of the incident, which has left 10 dead people, the institution confirmed that no damage was found in the asphalt folder that could have caused the accident.

According to the first opinions, the rupture in the gas tank occurred due to the impact with a solid object, which generated the escape and subsequent fire. Experts also identified waste of compounds such as benzene and stretch in the area.

MOST CONTEXT: they investigate speeding as a cause of pipe explosion

The Prosecutor’s Office said that all evidences have been documented and preserved, including images that show the good condition of the road, which reinforces the line of investigation focused on the impact and not on the conditions of the road.

Meanwhile, the FGJCDMX maintains comprehensive care cells in the area and in hospitals to provide psychological, legal and social accompaniment to victims and their families, in coordination with the Executive Commission for Victim Attention.
