King Carlos of England will return to its public functions this week after having been briefly hospitalized last Thursday by experiencing side effects of its cancer treatment, a real source reported on Monday.

Carlos, 76, has been receiving treatment since in February of last year an un specified type of cancer was diagnosed, after undergoing tests after a corrective intervention for the entertainment of the prostate.

However, he suffered what the sources described as a “small bump on the way” that meant their transfer to the hospital for a brief observation period on Thursday, with the result that he was forced to cancel some acts planned at the end of the week.

After a weekend of rest at his home in Highgrove, in western England, King Carlos was heading Monday to Windsor Castle, where he would prepare for a week of habitual work, which would include investiture and other public appearances, said the real source.

However, a couple of appointments have been rescheduled before their state visit to Italy, which will take place next week.
