The sale of light cars in Mexico during June 5.9% annual, its worst setback from 7.7% in December 2021, according to data published by INEGI on Wednesday.

The Statistics Institute reported the commercialization of 116,059 new units, a difference of 7,332 cars with respect to what was sold in June last year. With the June fall, sales three months with contractions.

In the accumulated between January and June, car sales yielded 0.2% by adding 709,341 units.

The three automotive with the largest participations in the accumulated sales to June were: Nissan (18.1%), General Motors (13.3%) and Volkswagen (11.3%), according to a report by the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA).

The marketing information in the domestic market comes from the administrative registry of the automotive industry of light vehicles, which integrates the results of 22 companies affiliated with the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry, and six non -affiliated companies, which market 39 brands that produce and/or commercialize in Mexico, the INEGI explained.
