Francisco Cervantes Díaz, president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) assured that the Package against Inflation and Scarcity (Pacic), a strategy promoted by the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has worked very well and has stopped the rise in prices of the basic basket.

“(The renewal of the Pacic is signed) to ensure that inflation does not rebound and it has worked perfectly well, the truth is that (the Ministry of Finance) has been very careful and the important thing is the results,” declared the businessman, one of the 40 who arrived at the National Palace for the event.

This Tuesday company executives and business leaders signed the renewal of the PACIC with President Claudia Sheinbaum and which will be in force for the last 47 days of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.

“We are going to continue adding other products to the basic basket,” said the leader of the top organization, who was at the center of the table in the Treasury Room.

He said that there are 24 products in the basic basket that will remain at a low price thanks to an agreement between companies that supply them, and among which are corn flour, tuna, fish, milk, chicken meat, pork, eggs. , beans and rice.

“We signed the Package against Inflation and High Costs 2024-2025 with companies that produce and market the 24 products in the basic basket,” said Sheinbaum Pardo.

“The commitment is to set the maximum price at 910 pesos; This represents a 129 peso reduction compared to the previous agreement, which was 1,039 pesos. We appreciate this important collaboration in support of the popular economy,” he expressed.

Among those who signed the agreement are Altagracia Gomez Sierra, of Maseca; Jose Eduvigildo Carranza, of Pinza Group; Antonio Suarez Gutierrez, of Groupmar; Edward Tricio, of Lala; Jose Antonio Gonzalez, of Gruma, and Alvaro Fernandez Garza, of Alpha.

Also present were José Antonio Chedraui Eguía, from Grupo Chedraui; Ricardo Martín Bringas, from Soriana; Javier Treviño Cantú, from Walmart of Mexico and Central America; Juan Manuel Ley-Bastidas, from Casa Ley, and Diego Cosío Barto, president of the National Association of Self-Service and Department Stores.

Others who signed the agreement were the representatives of La Moderna, Alpura, Proan, Grupo Porres, Bachoco, Ragasa, Valle Verde and Sukarne.
